The survey5 also states:

  • 26% reported that suffering chronic pain had impacted on their jobs (n=4,215).
  • 19% said that they had lost a job due to their pain (n=4,336).
  • 16% had changed job responsibilities (n=4,336).

Overall, the mean time lost by chronic pain sufferers from work in the previous 6 months was 7.8 days (n=1,980).

These results show that chronic pain remains an under treated problem throughout Europe.
