Contact with healthcare professionals
- Patients’ contact with physicians may also be less frequent than is needed. The number of patients visiting a doctor declined over the course of the year, from 83% to 70%.
- Of the 68% of patients who consistently consulted a healthcare professional across the year, 58% had been given a physical examination, 22% were rated on a pain scale, 19% were sent for further tests and only 2% had seen a pain specialist consistently throughout the year.
We will be publishing more results from the survey soon, so keep checking back to learn more about the PainSTORY survey.
